Ultrasound guidance can help deliver targeted treatment directly to painful joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments with the highest level of precision, safety, and effectiveness possible. Instead of giving an injection into a general location in your muscle, our doctors can deliver the medication much closer to the source of pain, maximizing the relief.

One type of ultrasound-guided injection is Cortisone.  Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication that is injected directly into joints to relieve pain caused by inflammation. Cortisone shots can usually last for several weeks, but it varies for every individual.

Ultrasound-guided injections are also used for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.  PRP is a concentration of platelets made from your own blood and re-injected to stimulate the natural healing process. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy can eliminate the need for surgery and may be used as a treatment for those who are not candidates for surgery.
